Hello Pandas,
Production on the playmats and sleeves will be wrapping up soon and we're preparing to get games on the water.
Pledge Manager Closes October 21st.
We'll be shutting down address changes during this time, but will be sending out Address Verification emails for each hub (Asia, Canada, US, Australia, Europe) when that hub's games are closer to the warehouse.
Address Verification
We are working with a partner (Matagot & Friends) to reduce games being sent to the wrong address. The best way we have found for this is to send out a verification shortly before your games are going to be sent from the warehouse. These verifications feed directly into our warehouse systems to make sure we can get the games to the right houses. :)
These are being sent out closer to arrival at the various hubs to the email address on your BackerKit page. Please look for an email from [email protected] (please check your spam folders too!).
The warehouse won’t send out your order until they’ve received this confirmation of the address.
Even with email reminders and holding open address confirmations until shortly before mailing out pledges, we have on average 3-5% of pledges returned due to a bad address. While that’s a single-digit number, it's still a lot of extra time and cost. Our hope is that this new integration directly between you and the warehouse will lower this significantly.

Smoke Test Live! Full Backerkit Coming soon

Hello Pandas,
We just launched the smoke test for Backerkit which means 5% of you will get your Backerkit email invite. Assuming that goes well the rest of the emails will go out tomorrow or Tuesday.
The system is pretty straight forward but we do have a quick guide below for anyone who's never used Backerkit before.

For those new to Backerkit we've created a quick walkthrough:

IF YOU'RE GETTING THE GAMES AT ESSEN, CHOOSE "LOCAL PICKUP" FOR YOUR COUNTRY
This is where you’ll be able to select the country in which your game will Ship or Switch your Pledge Level (If you backed at $1 for Example).
Just click on the blue text just under "Your Pledge Level" and you can select any of the pledges from the drop-down menu.
Click "Get Started" to continue, or "switch your pledge level" to do that.
> Questions
Since we don't have any open questions we need from you, this section is largely just a reminder that your Kickstarter items are already in your cart. You'll be able to add more copies in the next step.
> Add-Ons
In this part of the Pledge Manager, you’ll be able to add additional items to your pledge such as extra copies of Panda Spin or the upgrade materials.
You’ll see your shipping fees here which will increase depending on which extras you choose, unless you're using Local Pick Up.
Shipping is weight-based so the costs will be dependent on the weight of your items.
PLEASE NOTE If you don't have a country selected before this screen, as often happens with Late Pledges, shipping defaults to show "Rest of World" prices. Once you enter your address on the next screen it will fix itself.
If you live in a country where VAT is applicable you’ll also see VAT fees here. Please note that VAT is based on the amount charged for the items and shipping.

Then there is the “Shipping" section where you’ll have to fill in all your details so we can ship your games to you as soon as Panda Spin is printed and ready! All there is left to do is click “Next” and confirm your Pledge.
If your Kickstarter account is linked through an Apple ID, it might not deliver the BackerKit survey email. Please submit a ticket in this case.

Essen Pickups: If you're picking up your game at Essen, you have until September 30th to finalize your order in the pledge manager.

Everyone Else: For those not attending Essen, you have until October 15th to finalize your pledge.
But the surveys will still be editable for a few months after that, so if you move, etc., you will be able to use the link in your emails to return to the pledge manager and edit your address, etc., for some time.
You can also return to your pledge manager any number of times to change your items if you change your mind :)

Card Sizes:
Just a quick reminder, the final card size will be 60x112mm (French Tarot card size). We apologize for any confusion caused by earlier information.
Playmats and Sleeves
Sadly, playmats and sleeves won't be ready in time for Essen pickups, but don't worry! They'll be available for online orders through our store and partner stores.
Sleeves-
Sleeves: We heard you loud and clear! Sleeves will be added to the pledge manager. They'll be clear to let the amazing art and foil shine through. Each pack of 80 sleeves will be HK$50 (roughly $6.4 USD). With 85 cards in the game (including 10 dual-language player aids), you'll have plenty to protect your deck.
Playmat: Get ready to battle in style with our custom Panda Spin playmat! It's not only beautiful but also keeps your table safe from scratches. The playmat is expected to be HK$140.00 (roughly $18 USD).

Important Language Clarification

Hello Panda fans,
We wanted to quickly clarify the language options for the Kickstarter edition of Panda Spin.
Kickstarter Edition Language: The Kickstarter edition will ONLY be available in English and Chinese.
Retail Editions: Our partners will be releasing localized retail editions of the game in the coming year. These retail editions will include all the same great gameplay elements but will NOT have:
- Foil on the cards
- Inside art box printing
- Bamboo tokens
Rulebooks: Once available, rulebooks in other languages will be emailed upon request and also posted on BoardGameGeek for anyone to use.
Language in the Game: Panda Spin is largely language-independent. Text only appears on the 5 Element cards, player aids, and in the rulebook.
If you and your group are comfortable with this, we hope you'll consider backing the game and using the provided English/Chinese rules and the digital rules once available. If not, we'll be sure to post release dates for the other language editions as they become available.
